Brazil issues the first birth certificates registered only in blockchain

Brazil has just become the first country in the world to issue birth certificates only in a blockchain.

Newborn Álvaro de Medeiros Mendoça has become the first baby in the world whose birth certificate has been issued only through the underlying technology of cryptocurrencies, without the need to go through the traditional registry.

The baby's father, Waldyr Mendonça Junior, has reported that they have decided to make this decision after the American giant IBM and the technology company Growth Tech encouraged them to participate in the project. According to Álvaro's father, the use of blockchain technology has allowed them to register their child's birth in less than 5 minutes.

It should be noted that the birth registration has been carried out on the Notary Ledgers platform of Growth Tech, which provides virtual notary services.

According to Hugo Pierre, executive director of the company, the objective of his company is to carry out the process of registering birth certificates as efficiently as possible.

The head of the blockchain department of IBM in Latin America, Carlos Rischioto, has said that the registration process consists of 3 stages:

1. Living Birth Declaration made by the hospital.

2.Creation of a new digital identity by parents on the platform.

3.Sending the information to the notary.
